So it’s been a while since I have posted anything here. After such a long absence, one that was preceded with so much excitement about this new hobby, I had no choice but to reflect about why I stayed away. Can I play the “I was too busy” card? Not really. Life is just as busy now as it has always been. It didn’t take me long to realize that this disappearing act was about the fact that, too quickly, the upkeep of this blog became cumbersome and a chore. I really have only myself to blame as I started to forcefully look for things to post when really, this whole thing was to be about random, spontaneous, food related adventures/discoveries/anecdotes etc. So I’m going to go back to my original intentions and that is to only share what naturally emerges in my life anyway. Am I going to eventually post the recipe that I promised? Yes, I will (I have pictures to go along with the entry and the final dish is too good to keep to myself). But I’m not gonna do it today. Because there’s something else that I am super excited about!!!!! Yes, this warrants multiple exclamation points 🙂
You might remember that a while back I talked about buying a farm share (no, not an actual piece of land to work or settle on but a share of a farm’s produce harvest). Well, the time has come to finally start reaping the benefits of my investment! Tomorrow I get to pick up my first bag (maybe its a box or carton – I will soon find out) of veggies from The Fresh Veggies farm in Brampton. I received an email tonight about what I can expect to find:
Green Onions (Red)
I am soooo elated that I can barely contain myself – hence the need to share this news with everyone! Oh and green garlic?? What the heck is that? I guess I will soon find out. I will snap some photos of what this all looks like and share my impressions too.
On another note, something else that I’ve been quite excited about is my edible container garden…..planting is all done, now I am waiting with a tad of anxiousness to see if it all survives – stayed tuned for an inside look at what is growing (or not) on my balcony!
So lesson learned from my first attempt at this blogging thing. Here’s to (hopefully) more regular updates and culinarious adventures!
